Cake, cake and more cake updated...

Minion cake that I never want to speak of, let alone make again. In my head it seemed simple, but in cake it was a nightmare. I agreed to make it for my friends little boy's 6th birthday and it had 8 layers of white vanilla/almond sponge with Nutella buttercream. It was demolished by him and his dad in around 20 mins it, was a massive cake and I was so surprised how quick it was eaten. Suppose that was rewarding enough :)

Next was an Italian cake made for Theo's school friends nanny's husband whose birthday it was. It contained 6 layers; the Italian flag x2 made from white vanilla sponge cake with vanilla buttercream. This was made whilst recovering from a week's illness that left me in bed, relying on my 16's help. He did amazing, I recovered and did this just in time.

  1. Wow, these both look super-scrummy. It's always surprising how quickly people can scoff a good cake - in direct inverse proportion to the hours taken to make it!
